Meet Bruce Deutsch, Home Designer
|
Architectural designer Bruce Deutsch is one of the Washington, D.C., area’s little-known treasures, a modest artist who produces creative, elegant, masterful homes that blend into the existing neighborhoods as if they were always there.
Deutsch is so low-profile that he and his firm, Concepts and Contours, still don’t have an Internet site. Instead, he has relied on word-of-mouth advertising, with his past clients his biggest boosters.
Another reason Deutsch is not more famous is that he confines his exceptional talents to the arts-and-crafts neighborhoods of Arlington, Virginia. He also produces only one house a year.

Bruce Deutsch |
This year, the new Deutsch house is a five-bedroom, three-level luxury home with a tower room and downstairs theater. Built on a tree-lined street in the quiet Ashton Heights section of Arlington, the house is a short walk from the Virginia Square Metro.
Beyond the artistic touches outside, Deutsch excels at creating interior rooms that are at once stately and homey. His houses are exquisitely proportioned, with superb traffic flow and architectural surprises around every corner.
Deutsch lavishes special attention on the elegance of his tiled bathrooms, the choice of lighting fixtures and the gourmet kitchen.

Deutsch's New House |
Some of Deutsch’s fans who got a preview look at this house consider it his masterwork, a virtually flawless home. After more than two decades of redesigning and building houses in Arlington, it is also Deutsch’s first “Green” home, carefully constructed to minimize heating and cooling.
To see this architectural masterpiece for yourself, arrange a visit to 515 N. Lincoln Street in Arlington. Just call Diane Duston of Keller Williams Realty at 703-203-8957.
